Gabi: Welcome to the Hearth and Bloom podcast. This is a show where we have conversations about all things home while living a simple, unhurried life so you get greater peace, rest, and freedom in your day to day. I'm your host, Gabi Haberer. After living on the hamster wheel of a hurried life for so many years, st and watching my health and relationship suffer, I chose to slow it all down, really focus on a life giving home and live my moments with intention and purpose. What came from that shift was a restored life, a focus on my values, and greater rest and renewal in my daily living. I'm here to guide you to living a life unhurried so you gain the abundance and peace that you've been looking for. So let's get started. Welcome to this introductory episode of the Hearth and Bloom podcast. I'm so glad you've joined me. So this podcast has been on my heart for quite some time. I ran another podcast some time ago and that was so much fun. I got to connect with so many of you, but this really is where my heart is. I have a heart for home, for all things home, for homemaking and home studying and homeschooling. And I really think the art of homemaking is just such a lost concept in the current culture that we exist in. Being a homemaker, a home keeper, if you will, is just kind of almost looked down upon, right? It almost has no value in society. Well, I'm here to tell you that it does have value, not just in the eyes of your little people, of your family, in my eyes, but in the Lord's eyes as well. And so I want to invite you. If you are a mom that's a stay at home mom, or you're just a mom that wants to be a stay at home mom, or you're a homeschooling mom already and you're trying to find a way to cultivate just more of a life giving home, then this podcast is for you. If you're an overwhelmed woman, that woman that's highly motivated, self driven, wants to accomplish all the things that you find yourself exhausted, really by all of it by the end of the day. The mom that can't seem to get one step ahead, the woman that just wishes that there are more hours in the day to create beautiful things, then this podcast is for you. So with a mix of some solo episodes as well as some beautiful interviews, we are going to look at living a life unhurried in our homes so we can stop the life draining things that take away from the thing that the Lord has called us to do, which is to cultivate home. We're going to talk about creating time for yourself as a mom, as a homemaker, because typically self care is like the first thing to go. We're going to talk a little bit about the things that do give life to us and how we can cultivate that for our children. We're going to talk about homeschooling on this podcast. This is almost going into my 12th year of homeschooling at the time of this recording, and it has been the most life giving thing for me personally and as well as for our family. And I want to share just expert secrets, if you will, from veteran homeschool moms that have been doing it a lot longer than I have. I can't wait to share that wisdom with you. I can't wait to explore topics about homesteading. We run our own homestead. I run my own homestead, and it's been a beautiful experience as well. So we will have weekly episodes here to pour into each other's life, so that your home, your hearth, if you will it's another word for home, will be one that blooms, that ultimately is slowly growing towards the vision. That you and your family have for it, but also for the calling that the Lord has placed on your life as a homemaker, as a mom, as a wife, as a friend, as a sibling, a relative, a daughter. All of those things are beautiful things that define you and how we view those, how the world views those versus how we view those, how the Lord has called us to view those things are kind of diametrically opposed, and I want to support you in that. So I hope you'll join me for the next couple of episodes. I'm super excited to have some beautiful guests lined up that I know they have given me life in so many different ways through their books, through their teaching, through their speaking engagements, through their blog writing. Yeah, I can't wait to share all of those with you. So stay tuned. This episode, a new episode will drop every week, same time, same place. I invite you to sit with me at the kitchen table if you will. Grab a cup of tea and let's just chat, let's connect. I think that art of inviting your neighbor over, of hospitality, which is another thing I want to talk about on this podcast, is also kind of a lost art. We just don't do it anymore. I used to go over to a girlfriend's house or sit at the kitchen table, grab a cup of tea, let the kids play, and you would connect. We just live kind of isolated lives these days, and I want this podcast to be a vehicle for connection. So with that said, I can't wait to hear and see you next week here in this place. Connect with me over on Instagram. You can find me. My handle is at an unhurried living. A n unhurried living. You can connect with me there where I talk about homeschooling and homesteading and primarily homemaking, because I really do think it's the highest calling. Okay, well, that's it for me today. This really quick intro episode. I'll come at you again next week with another episode that will hopefully encourage you and really help you to see your home and your lifestyle and the vision the Lord has for you as a homemaker and a different light. Bye for now.
